Diego Marcone
Foley Artist, Foley Supervisor
I've been a film lover for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was transported to extraordinary worlds through fantasy adventure movies. Over the years, films have served as a refuge, a source of inspiration, and a source of joy in my life.
I must have been around 7 years old when, on one of those Saturday afternoon TV programs on broadcast television — with a title like The Magic of the movies— I saw for the first time what Foley recording was. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to dedicate myself to that craft that felt so much like playing.
I'm fascinated by the sense of immediate, direct storytelling and design that Foley has. Discovering the right tone for a sequence through trial and error with different objects. Putting the body into both creation and perception. Each project brings its own challenges — whether it’s finding a new sound or perfecting one that’s already been used.
I studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires, and directed two short films and a feature-length documentary. I’ve worked in various areas of sound production for audiovisual projects, eventually becoming a Foley artist.
